The newest golf course in central Ohio and the only golf course located in Orange Township; Little Bear Golf Club is officially open for play!

It’s a unique and different concept from any golf course in the country. Instead of the traditional 9 or 18 holes, this course has a total of 11 holes. For added flexibility there is a “front” five and a “back” five. The additional challenge hole, which has an Island Green is available for charity events, hole-in-one contests, fundraisers, etc. The course design is intended to appeal to people that may only want to play 5 holes (about 40 minutes) ie: someone on his/her lunch hour, after work, etc.

The course is open to the PUBLIC and families are encouraged to play together. Being non-traditional, the target market differs from the exclusive country clubs. Most of the players are expected to be women, seniors, youngsters, new players, and most of all; people that want to play quickly. Convenient to Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and Westerville with close proximity to Polaris makes the course easily accessible.

What started out as a bare soy bean field without any trees last year has been converted to a beautiful, rolling family recreation area that now has 2 large lakes, a stream, stone waterfall, 22 sand traps and over 600 trees. It was designed by Michael Hurdzan, a well-known golf course architect, that won the Donald Ross Award in 2007, previously won by Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones and Arnold Palmer.

The clubhouse is finally complete and includes a pro shop, health/fitness facility, grille room and banquet/meeting rooms that can accommodate 400 people.

Leagues are now forming. Private and Group lessons are available from the teaching pro by appointment. Junior golf camps have been greatly successful and are being planned for next summer.

The course is receiving great reviews. It has already been featured in numerous newspapers, magazines, TV newscasts, and radio broadcasts. (please take a minute and read some of these articles in the news section of this site!)

Little Bear is located off S. Old State Rd. just one mile north of Polaris Parkway. Little Bear opens daily at 7:00 a.m. until around 8:00 p.m.
